Mediumship - It’s different for everyone
I gave a reading last week that reminded me how dynamic and unpredictable spirit connection can be at times. The spirit realm is alive, interactive, and constantly shifting—which is why every reading is unique.
In this particular reading, the energy I felt from her loved one was so strong it took my breath away, but I struggled getting clear answers when I asked about the cause of death, relationship, or hobbies. The reading started strong with his appearance, age and active personality, then shifted to silence.
Finally, I asked if she’d lost this loved one recently and she confirmed that, yes, he had been gone less than two months. Because he was a young, healthy person who passed suddenly, his energy was still very strong but his ability to communicate was not refined. A more experienced medium may have been able to bring the evidence through with ease, but it may also be that we all learn to communicate at our own pace, on this side and across the veil.
It reminded me of some things I’ve learned over the past year and a half of giving readings.
Spirit Communication is Fluid and Responsive
The way messages come through varies depending on the spirit, the medium, and the energy of the moment.
Some spirits communicate in clear images, others through sensations, emotions, symbols, or words—it’s not a one-size-fits-all process.
Energy Influences the Connection
My energy affects the clarity of the connection. If I’m exhausted, stressed or distracted, it will feel more challenging.
The energy of the person receiving the message also plays a role—openness allows for a stronger connection, while skepticism or emotional blocks can create resistance.
Different Spirits Have Different Communication Styles
Some spirits are direct and clear, while others may communicate in ways that require more interpretation.
They may show past memories, personality traits, or symbolic messages that need to be decoded.
The Environment Can Shift Mid-Reading
A spirit may start with one message and then adjust based on how it’s received.
Sometimes multiple spirits try to come through at once, requiring discernment.
The intensity of the connection can ebb and flow—some moments feel electric, while others are softer and more subtle.
I’ve given hundreds of readings now and am no longer attached to the outcome of one over the other. I treat each connection as an opportunity to develop greater disernment and strengthen my connection.
